The human life is fallible and desperately broken. It is in our nature to fall short - to miss the mark and break down in imperfection. We are destined for a long line of failures. But it’s okay. Unfortunately, it’s normal, and understanding this relieves the pressure of acting like we have it all together. Responding to our brokenness is a small part of the pathway that brings us to a full life, and it would be wrong to live as if we are perfect. Life does us no favors by pretending. If we want to truly embrace healing, it begins with vulnerability. We must forgo the pains of our shame and step forward with an open heart. It is only then that we can be ourselves, for if we hide ourselves away, then we will never truly experience what it means to be human. Each of carries burdens, and perhaps the best way to carry them is to do it together.
