Don't Miss Out On The Party
If you pay attention to the world around you, you'll notice that more and more people are leaving their faith in God. Our culture is becoming godless. If you talk to everyday people, many are comfortable with admitting that they not only disassociate from Christianity but from the idea of religion entirely. Some call it the end times, others call for aggressive action to win our country back. I certainly don't have all the answers, but I do know one thing. We must never stop bringing people back to Jesus. For in him lies eternal life and the key to the best life here on earth. As the apostle Peter said, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires" (2 Peter 1:3-4). There's something special to notice here. It's not just that God helps us every once in a while, as if life is only marginally better when we put faith in him. No, through him we have everything we need, and we are granted his great and precious promises of a life forever! I sometimes like to think of faith in God as a party. If we are convinced (which does take time) that life with Jesus is the best life, we will not only have more joy and purpose, we will invite others to the party! We can't force people to go, but we can keep inviting them whenever there is an opportunity. As Christians, it is our job to keep inviting people to the party by sharing his gospel with those we know. Life with Jesus is not without its difficulties - which is where the party analogy breaks down - but I guarantee you it's worth it. When you have trouble believing it, remember that he has given us everything we need for life with him. Continue enjoying life with him and share with others what that means to you. Don't let anyone miss out on the party, because it's not a party, it's the best life on earth.
