How to Create a Miraculous Morning

Most people who have achieved some level of success have credited it to a morning routine or action of some kind. If you’ve ever watched an interview of a CEO, actor or professional athlete answering a question about their mornings, you can often see their face light up. You can tell that their mornings are important to them. But why is that? What is so significant about mornings and how do we imitate similar practices for ourselves?

I just finished a book called The Miracle Morning: The Not So Obvious Secret to Transforming Your Life Before 8 am. It’s a quick easy read dissecting the same question I had, and after looking at many people’s morning routines, the author recognized a lot of overlap. Some people credit affirmations, others meditations, and others a form of bright and early exercise. But the author, Hal Elrod, asked the question – why don’t you combine every form of a morning routine into one method? The result was the SAVERS, an acronym for a morning ritual with the most important actions in one period of time. It stands for the following:

Silence Affirmations Visualization Exercise Reading Scribing

For clarity’s sake, silence can also mean prayer or meditation of some kind, and scribing is just another word for writing or journaling. It’s meant to be a simple, inspirational way to start your morning successfully, and it’s to be customized or adjusted to fit any person’s lifestyle and career. If you’re interested in learning more, I’ll link the book down below. But the real concern is what to do with a method like the SAVERS and why to start a morning routine at all. To answer that, I’m going to share a quote from the late author and speaker Jim Rohn:

Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development, because success is attracted by the person you become.”

If you don’t take time to work on yourself – in whatever manner or method – you are not investing in the most important aspect of your life, which is who you’re becoming. If we want to bring the best version of ourselves into other areas of our life, we must develop ourselves first. I promise you, you will present the best of you if you work the hardest on you. In my short time on earth, this is probably the top advice I could give anyone, because while the method varies, or whether you do one, two or all six actions of the Miracle Morning, it doesn’t matter. What matters is who you are and who you’re becoming. Are you investing in yourself to become who you want to be? If not, today is a good day to start.
