Recognize Your Quality

You are already more qualified than you think. Throughout each day or week, you are doing something consistently: hard work, good parenting, dedicated hobbies, regular exercise, and more. Sometimes you just don’t give yourself enough credit.
If you talk to many of the great leaders of both history and present day, one word that will come up often regarding success is consistency. Whatever habits you have, do them regularly and well. It’s why so many people connect to books like Atomic Habits by James Clear, because it’s the message people need to hear. It’s practical and simple.
But I’m not encouraging you to do more, to add to your likely busy schedule. There’s a time for challenge, and a time to add new goals in your life. But today, just give yourself some credit. Think of the good habits you are doing consistently. If you don’t stop to give yourself some self-encouragement, you will end up filling in the blank to the phrase, “I’m not _________ enough.” While habits do make up much of the time of your life, they do not determine your worth. Instead, remind yourself of the ways you are enough, because you are.
Pat yourself on the back today. Give yourself a round of applause, a fancy cup of coffee, or much needed evening free from work. Recognize the quality that is already in you, and persist to another day.
