United We Stand, Divided We Fall

I love this country. We are blessed with many freedoms here, not to mention incredible cities, beautiful sights, and a diverse population of people. But I also fear for the disunity and disorganization we often face.
In the last year, I've grown in more distrust of our government, but I've come to believe more deeply in the American people. We have amazing people here, and though the government would like you to think that we are intensely opposed, the truth sheds a different light. Most people have more in common than they have differences, and that is something that should bring us hope. Take heart in our unity, for as a country of independent people, that is where our true power lies. It’s the nature of a republic to have citizens who coexist for the purpose of unity. That being said, I do understand that our country is not perfect, and there are always things that need to be changed. But know that the most effective change you can make is in yourself and your family. As Andy Frisella always says, "personal excellence is the ultimate rebellion." If you are able to be strong mentally, take care of yourself physically, and think critically for yourself, that is the most powerful rebellion. A government cannot control its population if they are personally excellent. Take heart in what you can do as an American, have pride in your country, and unite with your fellow citizens to be the best you can be. For as the famous saying tells us: united we stand, divided we fall.
